Day 9 - Just Another Day

As you can see, my entry titles are starting to get less and less interesting as I'm pretty much doing the same things everyday for the most part.... Oh well, can't complain.  I'm still on vacation :)

Recap:

Lunch with the pops.  Had BBQ rice with my daily dose of milk tea.  I swear I'm addicted to the milk tea man, just....so so so good.

Sooo in the middle of lunch, the waitress (who also knows my dad) was talking to me and then all of a sudden says "wow, your Chinese is amazing!" Uuuuunnnnhhhh! Guess this Canto challenge I have with Wayne is going to be a walk in the park.  Let me go back to Stanley and chill on my rock with my victory pose.
UUUUUNNNNHHHH!!! *Jonny Drama's voice* VICTORY!!

Anyways, back to the recap.  After lunch, Franky, Sean, Victor and I decided to hit up Victoria Park again to run some ball.  Once again, the competition was garbage and I was pretty disappointed with the people there.  Guess we gotta find the right times to go....

For dinner, Victor brought us to this Red Ant restaurant in Kowloon.  At first, we thought it was going to be an expensive meal, but it actually turned out not that bad (not to mention the food was AMAZING)

Victor recommended we try out this beef and brisket baked rice thing.  My God it was frigging orgasmic!!! In fact, it was so good that I actually stopped the dinner conversation just to say "Victor, this is THE shit!"  They should seriously change the name of the dish to "Moomba"....
Wayne, Sean, Wendy, Victor, and Franky at dinner.  Dinner conversations surrounded Franky and my interest in exotic animals (i.e. pandas, kangaroos, and koala bears), iPhones, and Time Crisis.  One more time....HOW can you not like pandas?!!!

From right to left: Apple 2G iPhone (Franky), 3G iPhone (Me), 4G iPhone (Victor). Siiick!

So after dinner, we decided to hit up the arcades yet again.
Funny story.  So we were all lining up to change our bills for dollar coins and Victor accidentally put a $10 into this machine, not realizing that he was getting 'horse racing machine' tokens only haha.  After 10 mins of trying to figure out how the hell to play the horse racing games, we gave up and just left the tokens there...fail.

Since we had 4 basketball-enthusiasts in the same room, the trash-talking became inevitable.  What does that mean?  That means a free-for-all shootout needed to take place to crown the ultimate champion.  Punishment: the losing two players would be required to pay for the 2nd game of the two winners.  Let the games begin!

First-game winner: Ben with a score of 132.
Second-game winner: Sean with a score of 143.  Videos will be posted soon.

We capped off the night with some desserts
Wayne and Wendy decided to get some durian mochii cakes, which didn't look that good, but as you can see from their expressions, apparently tasted amazing.

I decided to go with the safer bet and get mango bits with glutinous balls in mango juice.  I'm still licking my lips as I type this.....

Oh man, no lie, TWO blog entries in one night is too damn much.  Never EVER again...

Good night kids, and study hard for those that are still in school!

Day 8 - Settled In

Sorry for the delayed post, but I was too tired to do a recap yesterday...apologies to my "fans" haha

RECAP TIME!

Lunch with my cousins at niji, some Japanese place.  Price: high. Quality: medium-high. Overall: S'ok 3.5/5 Lambo Stars
My meal: steak with eggplant, omelette with rice, some kind of soup, potato salad (I think), and green peas.
The coffee there was delish though, gotta give them that.

After lunch, it was meetup with the regulars.  Some more shopping, walking, and...a celebrity sighting!!!

First stop, Wayne decides to purchase some kiddie stickers...

...still looking....
He ended buying these "BEN 10" stickers.  I don't know what they are or who that guy is, but I definitely approve! Good purchase.

Jen found this awesome Mr. Potato Head thing.  It looks like a regular big Mr. Potato Head from afar, but if you look closer, there are actually parts inside the head to build the rest of the Potato Head family. sickk!!

PANDA! Aka Panda Godzilla destroying the truck.  Either that or he's....going to work on it....:| I guess the term "destroying" works in both cases...haha

Did you know that there is a brand of jeans in HK called SPARTA Jeans?!  You best believe I bought a pair of shorts from them.  Yeaup, I'm officially a member.

HK people are serious about their BB guns man.  I'd so buy some if I could bring them back across the border... I don't know what it is about guns and toy guns, but they fascinate me...damn it I want one :S

CELEBRITY SIGHTING: Not that I have any idea who this girl is, but....CELEBRITY SIGHTING!!  Apparently it's Leila Tong (Tong Ling) on the right? Or is she on the left...
So Wayne, Sean, and I were all ready to go up to her and ask for a picture, but NOPE, Miss Jennifer Sze decides she's too embarrassed and runs away... Thanks for ruining our chance to become famous Jen :@

At night, it was a night of chilling at a patio in LKF with some good ol' sheesha and beers.

The view of LKF bars and clubs from our 4th-floor patio. Niiiice.
 Vacation-drinking baby
Gotta go with apple flavour haha
Chill night for real.  My boy Franky finally showed up in HK, what up homie!!! Good way to end the night.

So Wayne and I have a debate going on.  We both know we have terrible Canto, but we both refuse to admit we are worse than the other person (there's that Spartan ego...).  So our question to the public is: Who do you think has a higher chance of surviving in HK?

Interesting quotes from the day:

Me: What do you wanna be for Halloween?
Jen: The KFC dude
Sean: A UFC DUDE?!?!?

Me to Wayne: That's right! Trying to take shots at me?! I'm Muhammad Ali bitch!!

Franky on a girl's jugs: She's HUGE!
Wayne: How big is she?
Franky: Ok, if she was sitting in this chair, they'd be on the table!

Day 7 - Buddha Meets Buddha

For those wondering what the title "Buddha meets Buddha" means, let me explain.  Recently, Wayne has been eating more unhealthy foods, which has resulted in him gaining a little weight...."a little".... Our friend Mike one day commented by saying he now has a Buddha body because of his big belly...and hence a "Buddha" nickname.  Note: The Buddha comments are all made in good fun and not intended to offend anyone!

Recap

Day started off like every other day thus far - eating, shopping, and walking around.  This time, the meet up spot was at some outlet mall at Tung Chung.

Puma store: Look at the red-gold shoes! Damn those are mesmerizing....they're definitely not basketball shoes, but I'm tempted to add them onto my "to buy" list... I ended up buying a Usain Bolt tee instead to support my boy haha USAAAAIN!

Bathing Ape: Not sure if this was an official store or just a store that sold Bathing Ape products, but the figurines were sick nonetheless.  I actually thought that was a legit hoodie that you can buy, but turns out it's not....

Nike: HKers see this man as like a god, no lie.  Probably the most idolized sports athlete in all of Asia.

McCafe: It's official, this Mocha Frap has made it onto my favourite drinks list...which basically consists of every drink I've tried in HK haha btw I should be a McCafe spokesperson.

After shopping, it was Buddha time!
Inside our A/C-less cable car...which dangerously swayed whenever we overloaded one side with weight...

Photo session on top of the Buddha mountain.  Too bad the skies weren't as clear as we'd like, but it didn't rain or typhoon, so it's a win I guess.

Saw a bunch of these flying bunny balloons.  No clue what they are for, but they looked awesome.

Wayne at his finest
So I decided to pose for this pic and as you can see, I could barely put my head in...*pause*.  So Wayne being Wayne decides to shout out "your head is too big for the hole!" in front of other tourists.

A billion and a half steps to get to the top of the mountain where the Buddha statue was... But no worries, the Spartans were ready for the challenge.  We were born ready mother fucker!  A billion and a half steps in 3...2...
Oh wait, one of our supposedly Spartans decided he needed to smell some flowers first... not only is that a definite no-homo moment right there, but now we all know who not to bring with us to battle.....smh

Our exhausted expressions after we reached the top of the steps.  Guess we weren't in battle-ready shape after all...

Wayne "Buddha" Chan, meet Buddha & friends.

We decided to take a well-earned ice cream break after walking up all those steps. So I got....A MEGA POPSICLE!!! Who remembers these?!!! Kind of sad how I was more excited about this than seeing the Buddha statue...I'm a kid I know :S

After walking around a bit more, we decided to take another dessert break (yeah I know, we reward ourselves very easily...haha).  Red bean cake, peanut cake, turnip cake, "tofu-flower" pudding (?).  Nom freaking nom....nom.

Wayne strikes again!
Wayne: What is Tai O?
Dog: I don't know....big O?
Wayne: Damn, I haven't had one of those in awhile...

On top of the Buddha mountain.

After we got back to the Tung Chung area, we had dinner at some Shanghai restaurant.  It wasn't very filling, but it definitely was some tasty stuff.  Price: medium to expensive. Quality: high. Overall: yes'r! 4/5 Lambo Stars.

Wayne goes in for the kill!
Wayne: Rock-paper-scissors to see who gets the last dumpling?
[Wayne wins]
Wayne: Yes! Big Buddha's getting dinner tonight!!
[Wayne inappropriate comments counter: 4]

Dessert at some random dessert place followed...
I rewarded myself with a bowl of mango sago jelly. Gooood.

Big Buddha rewarded himself with a bowl of mango sago jelly and TWO coconut red-bean pudding cakes.... look at his eyes, man is unstoppable right now...hide the women and children!

Supposed to get my first eye pupil-dilate exam tomorrow.  I hear your eyes are extremely sensitive to light afterwards and you need to rest up.  Not gonna lie, a little nervous about that... Oh well, s-p-a-r....ah screw it haha

Good talks.  Good experiences.  Good memories.

Good night.
